Michelle Dong was born and raised in San Francisco. A food lover from a very young age, she started cooking family recipes with her mom and eventually worked in local kitchens and bakeries in the Bay Area. As her love of food grew, she found a new passion in photography. Michelle has been lucky enough to travel around the world, documenting all the rich flavors and diverse cultures with photography. Unsurprisingly, she has become a photographer who is obsessed with exploring our relationships with the land and our food. 

After living abroad for four years, Michelle has reestablished herself in California, putting down roots in the beautiful Monterey Bay. She can regularly be found at any of the local farmer’s markets talking to venders and picking out fresh ingredients for her next culinary adventure.

Michelle strives to use her photography as an invitation to come in and sit down at the table and see what she sees, taste what she tastes. It is her goal to highlight local ingredients and the craftsmen and women that create magic out of them.
